About Prickly Moon Studio

I’m a grandmother and a lifelong maker, happiest when I’m creating. From crochet and sewing to jewelry, reimagined denim, painting, and my favorite, mixed-media collage, I love bringing unexpected elements together to create something with a personality of its own.

Some of my artwork brings together graphic elements available through Canva, thoughtfully arranged into compositions that reflect my love of small details and whimsical storytelling.

Prickly Moon Studio takes its name from two of my loves: the dreamy, mysterious moon (especially on windy nights!), and the nopal, aka prickly pear cactus. The moon captures my imagination and heals as Nopal nourishes me as an accompaniment to my eggs at breakfast and a moisturizing oil for my skin. Together, they bring natural pleasures and a little moonlit mystery to the name of my studio.

These whimsical digital pieces are a new direction for me, inspired by cozy little dwellings, enchanted worlds, and the joy of noticing small things. A caterpillar curled around a stem. A tiny character with a story of its own.

There’s no hidden meaning you need to unravel. My hope is simply that you’ll enjoy the details, feel a little wonder, and find something that makes you smile.
